On May 4, 2021, the leaders of the Vietnam Association of Architects held an unscheduled meeting led by Chairman Dr. Architect Phan Dang Son to discuss a number of urgent issues related to future activities of the Association and ensuring the prevention and control of Covid-19 – 5 May 2021

- postponing the Workshop, “Towards half a century of revolutionary architecture of Vietnam to unify the country (1975 – 2025)”, scheduled to take place on June 4, 2021 in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, until the end of June 2021, expected 18 to 25 June 2021.
- the National Festival of Young Architects in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, expected to be held from August 20 to 22, 2021.
- the extension of the architect’s practicing certificate and the organization of examinations to issue practice certificates, pending a written response from the Ministry of Construction. The Association will be responsible for notifying the architects.

The Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) organised an ideas competition for the design of makeshift hospitals. The competition aimed to promote architects’ creative ideas in the design of makeshift hospitals, able to cope with the complex evolutions of infectious diseases.
