The Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners have published a report of the national survey analysing the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the architecture and town planning professions in Pakistan.

The Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) organised an ideas competition for the design of makeshift hospitals. The competition aimed to promote architects’ creative ideas in the design of makeshift hospitals, able to cope with the complex evolutions of infectious diseases.
Lu Andong, Committee member of the UIA Work Program Public Spaces (China branch), designed a project for the isolation ward of suspected cases of the Third People’s Hospital of Jiangdu District in Yangzhou.

As part of the UN-Habitat World Urban Campaign, the UIA recently organised the latest global online Urban Thinkers Campus webinar, entitled: Architects’ response in reshaping our cities that are resilient to pandemic situations. Speakers included Ishtiaque Zahir Titas (Bangladesh) and Nathalie Mossin (Denmark), co-directors of the UIA Sustainable Development Goals Commission.
The Ordre National des Architectes du Cameroun has presented a design by Architects Bertrand Meyanga for a COVID-19 health center with a 1000-bed capacity.
