Information dating from May 2020

The Rawalpindi Islamabad Chapter of IAP has organised a lecture series on Zero Carbon COVID-19 Emergency Field Wards, presented by award-winning architect Yasmeen Lari.

With the Covid-19 lockdown still enforced in Pakistan, IAP -Karachi Chapter’s Executive Committee provided a platform where members could learn new software skills from the comfort of their homes, an initiative in line with the chapter’s “Be positive, be productive” campaign.

On 23 May 2020, IAP-Karachi Chapter, in collaboration with OCLITS, one of the official Autodesk partners in Pakistan, hosted a complimentary Skill Building webinar on “Introduction to Autodesk Revit” for members. PCATP also assigned CPD points to IAP members attending this webinar which:

  • highlighted the importance of BIM software
  • explained & demonstrated basic Revit commands, tools and interface
  • discussed features like Revit templates, Single Integrated Models, Datum & Reference Elements and the creation of modelling elements.

IAP-Karachi reports a very positive response, with over 60 members attending the webinar from all over Pakistan. Future detailed online sessions where Revit will be taught with greater detail by OCILTS are planned.

The session was concluded by Chairman IAP-KC with closing remarks and a vote of thanks for OCLITS.
