The Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) organised an ideas competition for the design of makeshift hospitals. The competition aimed to promote architects’ creative ideas in the design of makeshift hospitals, able to cope with the complex evolutions of infectious diseases and to fulfil the functions required by the Ministry of Health for medical examination and treatment. Further criteria called for safe, low-cost design that is quick and easy to deploy, in compliance with national building regulations.
The Awards Ceremony took place alongside a Conference on the topic “Design solutions for modern hospitals”, held 8 July 2020 in the new building of the Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi. The conference was organised by VAA and The Ministry of Health.
