IAP – Karachi Chapter presented the “CPG Pandemic Resilience Playbook“, an extensive document which sets out design strategies for the built environment, based on the consultancy’s technical expertise, past project experiences and international best practices and accompanied by “CPG Pandemic Resilience Playbook” webinar on 10 April 2021. CPG shared perspectives on developing pandemic resilience as a new dimension of urban resilience in the built environment. The session was followed by a Q & A session.

The Rawalpindi Islamabad Chapter of IAP has organised a lecture series on Zero Carbon COVID-19 Emergency Field Wards, presented by award-winning architect Yasmeen Lari.
With the Covid-19 lockdown still enforced in Pakistan, IAP -Karachi Chapter’s Executive Committee provided a platform where members could learn new software skills from the comfort of their homes, an initiative in line with the chapter’s “Be positive, be productive” campaign.
On 23 May 2020, IAP-Karachi Chapter, in collaboration with OCLITS, one of the official Autodesk partners in Pakistan, hosted a complimentary Skill Building webinar on “Introduction to Autodesk Revit” for members. PCATP also assigned CPD points to IAP members attending this webinar which:
- highlighted the importance of BIM software
- explained & demonstrated basic Revit commands, tools and interface
- discussed features like Revit templates, Single Integrated Models, Datum & Reference Elements and the creation of modelling elements.
IAP-Karachi reports a very positive response, with over 60 members attending the webinar from all over Pakistan. Future detailed online sessions where Revit will be taught with greater detail by OCILTS are planned.
The session was concluded by Chairman IAP-KC with closing remarks and a vote of thanks for OCLITS.
